Impactful Change for Disabled
Bridging Hope to home by building a path of Inclusion, Independence, and a Community of belonging for those with a SCI/TBI disability. Providing financial assistance to assist families with the resources and support needed to provide opportunities for their best quality of life. Reaching new horizons by Rising others!

Social model of disability
We need to make a change in the way we view and include people with disabilities, and to do this we need to first understand the social model of disability.

Inclusive Society
Disability is not just a medical issue, it is a cultural and social issue. We need to change society to become more inclusive and make sure everyone feels like they belong.

Universal Design
Through universal design, we can make spaces that work for everyone, including people with disabilities, without needing to make special adaptations later.

The Purpose Behind Our Passion
I was injured at the age of 15, my Sophmore year of High School, playing my favorite sport-Football. It was our homecoming game, I had played football since I was 4 years old, and had made this same defensive play a thousand times before. However, I had no idea it would be my last defensive hit ever! I was paralyzed from a c-4 c-5 fracture upon contact during a defensive hit. I have continued to stay positive throughout a lot of hard days! I have continued to be active with therapy and strive to live my best life! In order to live life to the fullest, I feel that helping others with similar disabilities is so important. Everyone deserves to live their best life, no matter what the circumstances are. Therefore I have started the Micah Strong Rise Up Foundation. This is a (501)c3 Non-profit that builds bridges to open opportunities to future goals, both academic and career based. This foundation will promote programs designed to implement both Physical and Occupational Neuro Therapy to build independence and a healthier quality of life through Providing resources, support and funding to assist with areas that insurance does not cover Giving thanks for what has been done for me, and moving towards giving back even more! Thank you for this
opportunity! #MicahStrong11

I am grateful and honored to receive the support of the foundation. The financial assistance is significantly impacting my opportunity to train with Next Steps. By relieving the financial worries, I can truly focus on working hard with the Next Step's team as I physically strengthen and pursue independance.
